Doris E. Taylor OBITUARY

Doris E. Taylor of Landenberg Doris E. Taylor, 85, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2012, at her home. She was born in September, 1926 and was a life long resident of Chester County. Doris was the daughter of the late Ralph and Alice Emerson Jr. She was the widow of Robert N. Taylor, who passed in 2008, and with whom she shared 60 years of marriage. She was a dedicated homemaker and supporter of her husband and family. Doris loved sewing, needlework of all types, cooking, canning, and flower gardening. She was a member of the Avondale Presbyterian Church in which she served in different positions in the past. She was a past member of the Eastern Star, and a leader in the Girl Scouts and 4H. She loved numerous dogs and cats. Doris is survived by two brothers, Ralph Emerson III and his wife Mildred, and Paul Emerson and his wife Truby; three children, Cheryl Salvato and her husband Rick, Rose Anne Kelley, and Robert Taylor Jr. and his wife June. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Heath and Brett Kelley, Laura Salvato, Robert Taylor III, and Kristen Morales and her husband James. Doris was unfortunately preceded in death by two grandsons, Derrick and Nathan Salvato. She also has three great-grandchildren, Logan and Michael Taylor, and James Morales. There are also numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, a brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, scattered throughout the country. You are invited to visit with Doris’s family and friends from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Friday, July 6, at the Avondale Presbyterian Church, 420 Pennsylvania Avenue (Route 41), Avondale. Her funeral service will follow at 12 noon. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery, Kennett Square. In lieu of flowers you may make a donation in Doris’ memory to Avondale Presbyterian Church, 420 Pennsylvania Ave., Avondale, PA 19311.
